COMMISSIONS
Limitations, self imposed or otherwise, are the forces which bring creative tension, and therefore energy, to the work. Doing commission work I learn things I would never seek out on my own; like life in the silver mines in Utah, or the rise and fall of the German breweries in Cincinnati. I love the research; studying vintage photographs, reading history, imagining another time.
